There are new condos, hotels, grocery stores, retail stores, and more coming to the area, which means new places to visit, more jobs, and more desire for people to live here. Take a look at why you’ve chosen the right place to live based on all of these exciting new projects coming to the area or that have just arrived.
Airport expansion
The West Shore of the Tampa International Airport is getting an exciting new expansion that you’ve probably been following closely in recent news. The 3,300 acre expansion phase is going to handle 35 million passengers annually in order to double what it can currently handle. It will be used to decongest walkways, offer new terminal concessions, and more. This is going to help make a great first impression for those flying into the area for the first time.
Port Tampa Bay project
Another exciting development is the Port Tampa Bay, where a proposed waterfront development is in the works just north of the Florida Aquarium. The Channelside development would feature waterfront parks, a marina, high-rise residential buildings, and all in an amazing location.
Downtown’s new condo and hotel project
You may have heard about the project in the works for Downtown St. Petersburg’s One St. Petersburg condo and adjoining hotel. It would take up a whole city block to create the upscale hotel and high-end condo building, but it will offer waterfront living in the upper stories and would become one of the tallest building in the area.
Downtown St. Pete’s Project on 400 block of Central Ave
The 400 block of Central Avenue in St. Pete’s downtown area is in the works to being cleared out to make room for more developments. The idea is to bring in a mixed-use building to the spot by the work of John Catsimatidis of New York’s Red Apple Group. The building would be 41 stories and add to the overall skyline.
The Heights
Tampa Heights is looking forward to a new mixed-use development in the works along the Hillsborough River. This area is working towards a 43-acre development that would encompass residential apartments, offices, restaurants, and more. It’s just north of downtown Tampa and it would become the northern hub of the boardwalk from the Tampa Riverwalk.
Tropicana Field
Another exciting development is in the works for Tropicana Field, just west of downtown St. Pete’s. The plan is to redevelop the 85-acre site that includes the Tropicana Field and other sites in the area. The contingency would be that the Rays either choosing a new stadium in another part of Pinellas or Hillsborough counties, or getting to remain and build a new stadium in the same area.
In addition, be on the lookout for new projects in Tampa including the downtown Tampa’s Vinik-Cascade joint venture, Lafayette Place, Raymond James Financial Pasco campus, and Downtown Publix stores for both Tampa and St. Pete’s.
