Companies keep expanding and joining the area because it’s such a desirable business location, there is affordable housing for their employees, the weather rocks, and there is simply a high-quality group of people that want to be a part of the workforce. The business regulations keep business’ best interest in mind and it’s easy to travel for work due to Tampa having world-class airports, as well as being a premier cruise and cargo port.

New Jobs Coming in the Thousands

Tampa residents can look forward to thousands of jobs joining the area between the expansion of local companies and the addition of even more. A new workspace just opened for Ashley Furniture’s e-commerce operations allowing for 100 employees to join the new workspace in the former Carmike Cinemas theaters location of Centro Ybor.

Another huge name is Johnson & Johnson, the pharmaceutical company known for Band-Aid and Tylenol, that will be bringing 500 new jobs in their shared-services headquarters. Their jobs will average $75k over three years which will cause a capital investment to the Tampa region of $23.5 million!

If that number doesn’t surprise you, the 4,000 jobs coming from Amazon.com’s new mega-distribution centers will have your jaw on the floor. Numbers like these are going to massively elevate the community, along with projects like the RNC and the Stanley Cup.

Companies that are expanding

Fitlife FoodsA few local companies will also be expanding their operations which contribute to the massive amount of new job possibilities for local residents. Tampa International Airport took on a billion-dollar project that allowed for around 10,000 jobs between construction and permanent jobs for 2018. This is exciting since it’s a top-rated airport in the continent.

In addition to many other expanding companies like SLV, Fitlife Foods, and Inspirata Inc., Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik has announced his plans to remake his 40 acres around Amalie Arena in order to add another 6,700 jobs to the area.

These recent changes have all been happening over 2015 and the first part of 2016 after long discussions about the best place to bring these jobs. Along with the excellent workforce, companies know that Tampa has business regulations that are easy to work with, an affordable place to live for their employees, and a desirable place to live.

Most agree that the business policies, the skilled workforce, the desirable location, and the low cost of living are the main factors in considering Tampa.
