If you’re looking for a hot new place to call home this year, be sure and put Tampa at the top of your list. The city was just named one of the nation’s hottest housing markets for 2021.
According to recent reports, buyers are expected to be looking for more affordable destinations coming off the pandemic and Tampa's market still offers one of the better values of any major metro area.
For comparison, homes in Tampa cost about 24-percent less than in Miami, another desirable location within the South Florida region, and buyers are still able to get a great waterfront location and a lot more bang for their buck.
Currently, Inventory is down in places like Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties, but demand is up and homes are selling quickly and often times for above asking price. And despite various challenges the pandemic has brought upon many of us, some industry experts credit a spike in home sales to the ongoing pandemic as well. With so many people working remotely these days, many buyers are looking for a new location that offers the lifestyle they want, without being restricted by geography.
In fact, some estimates show more than 14-million Americans will move across county lines this year, representing a big spike in long-distance moves traditionally.
