You already knew that the Tampa Bay was a special place, but did you realize that many of the top growing companies felt the same? The Bay is becoming home to some of the fastest growing companies in the entire country, a sure sign that this city is a highly desirable place to live.
Last year the Inc. 5000 list took a look at the fastest-growing businesses in the US and it concluded that of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the country, that 73 of them were right here in the Tampa Bay. Take a look at who made the list and why some of them chose this beautiful part of the country.
Some of the players in the top 10 list
You’ll find a range of fields that occupy the top 10 list of Inc. 5000’s 2015 selections operating out of Tampa Bay. Top choices include the No. 2 spot of E-Telequote, a company of 80 employees that are helping Medicare health insurance coverage for insurance companies, Nitro Mobile Solutions at No. 3, a mobile app software developer, and No. 8’s Cabinets.com, with a small operation of just under 20 employees providing online sales of wooden, customized, and discounted kitchen cabinets.

It’s unbelievable that 73 of the country’s fastest-growing businesses are right here in Tampa Bay. The top 10 in Tampa Bay are comprised of a variety of fields, including Real Estate company Stress Free Property Management, Tampa at #10 in the metro and $458 in the US. No. nine on the list is a government services industry leader Trident Technical Solutions out of St. Petersburg, which saw a 1,044% growth in three years.
The #8 and #5 spots are in the retail industry with Cabinets.com out of Tampa seeing a 1,157% 3-year growth and Splash and Dash for Dogs International out of St. Pete’s seeing a 1,550% growth in 3 years. The advertising and marketing field ranks at #7 with Bluewater Media in Clearwater and at #4 with Progressive Dental Marketing in Clearwater.
In addition, #5 in the metro is USA Staffing Services of Tampa while the top three rankings are comprised of E-Telequote in #2, Nitro Mobile Solutions software company in Tampa at #3, and Physicians Toxicology Laboratory in Tampa’s Heath industry at #1 or #59 in the US.
What other companies made the US list?
While the Tampa Bay saw 73 of the 5,000 list, other big names around the state include Largo’s Alakai Defense Systems which offers online travel insurance. Squaremouth located in St. Pete’s made the list at No. 2963 while another Tampa company College Hunks Hauling Junk & Movie ranked at 3,389.
Over in California, the No. 1 spot went to Ultra Mobile of Costa Mesa, California, which saw a 3-year growth rate at 100,849% making it an over $118 million company in the telecommunications field. Overall, the list spans wide in the variety of fields that showed such extreme growth.
This update from Inc. 5000 shows that Tampa Bay is one of the biggest homes of private business startups in the country and that small businesses, as well as larger ones, can do great here. It’s another reason that people are drawn to the beautiful Tampa Bay!
