In case you haven’t heard, Tampa’s downtown skyline is about to get a whole lot broader as an ambitious new $3 billion plan takes shape that will transform 53 acres of re-developed property into a fabulous new mixed-use district that 23,000 people will soon live, work, and play.
Called Water Street Tampa, the massive new development is a joint collaboration between Strategic Property Partners and Cascade Investment, and will eventually add roughly 9 million square feet of total development to the downtown Tampa landscape over the next 10 years, which will be broken down into 3,500 new residences, 650 new hotel rooms, and 2.6 million square feet of state-of-the-art office space.
But along with all the fancy new buildings that will completely re-define the Tampa skyline, the new Water Street Tampa district will also feature 12.9 acres of parks and a fabulous waterfront walkway, providing plenty of common outdoor space for everyone in the city to enjoy, but especially future residents who will soon call this spectacular new neighborhood home.
With infrastructure work only just now beginning, however, the first phase of Tampa’s new Water Street Tampa development isn’t expected to be completed until 2020. As more more details are reported, look for us to continue to highlight this exciting and dynamic new addition to the city.
