Tampa is already an amazing place to call home and a popular choice for those looking to live in Florida. But thanks to a warm, tropical climate, amazing beaches and golf courses, and no state taxes, more and more high profile celebrities are making the move to Tampa Bay, including a few names you may recognize below...
Derek Jeter – MLB Legend
Although Derek Jeter made a name for himself in the Big Apple, he's also one of Tampa Bay's most famous home owners. Not surprisingly, his 31,000 square foot Davis Islands estate is the largest house in all of Hillsborough County. Inside you'll find seven bedrooms and nine full bathrooms, and the property also features two 3-car garages, and two boat lifts, a bay front swimming pool, and spectacular views of the water.
Tom Brady - Bucs QB
Tom Brady may not own a home in Tampa, but since becoming the lead man for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he's been calling Jeter's waterfront palace home. And while a Boston sports legend teaming up with a New York sports legend may seem taboo to fans, Bucs fans are just happy he's wearing Buccaneer red in 2020.
Matt Geiger – NBA Star
You may have heard of former NBA star Matt Geiger who is one big name that has found a home here in the Tampa Bay area. Although he is no longer the owner of this beautiful Tarpon Springs property, it’s no wonder that he decided to purchase this huge estate when he did. It’s actually one of the most grandiose properties in the Bay area, containing 28,000 square feet of space which consists of a 5,200 square foot guesthouse and 7,200 square foot patio.
It was built back in 2002 and listed five years later in 2007 asking $19 million. The property sold for just under $10 million which meant the new owner would get to call the largest mansion in Pinellas County home, and get the 330,000-gallon pool with waterfall and Jacuzzis along with it. The home even has an artificial fishing lake full of thousands of bass, a putting green, and room for livestock like cattle and buffalo.
Tom Cruise - Movie Star
If you haven't already heard, mega movie star Tom Cruise in now a bay area local after buying the penthouse at The SkyView in nearby Clearwater, just blocks from his Church of Scientology headquarters. According to reports, Cruise's new digs encompasses two levels and of course features premium views of the Gulf.
Vinny Lecavalier – Hockey legend
Another Davis Island home owner is Vinny Lecavalier, Stanley Cup winner and star of the Bolts, with his $2.45 million home in the same area as Jeter. He enjoys just under 8,000 square feet of space in this luxury home featuring six bedrooms, seven baths, and a two-story on the canal. He also gets to enjoy a boat dock, pool, and spa in this home, as well as a second home being a $365,000 condo in Davis Islands.

Along with these huge sports figures, you’re also likely to spot Terry Gene Bolea, better known as Hulk Hogan, in the Belleair area. NFL coaches, Tony Dungy and John Gruden are located in Tampa, along with pro tennis players Martina Navratilova, Jennifer Capriati, and Monica Seles. Aside from sports, you’ll find author Stephen King located in Sarasota, John Travolta in the Tampa Bay, and AC/DC singer Brian Johnson in Sarasota.
